How Isabel Gets on Top of the Dining Room Table.

It's hard to believe that Isabel is only 1.5 years old...

  1. Shirley,

I love the "stick" drawings! Kids are so amazingly smart. When my daughter Emily was 2 1/2 she "escaped" from the house at 6 am.
Our house had a solid wood front door that swelled during damp weather, and to unlock the deadbolt we had to push against the door with our body weight while turning the lock. Emily managed to unlock the deadbolt, and BOLT out of the front door in her jammies with her blanket in hand. (it turns out that she had come in to our bedroom around 5:30am and told daddy she was hungry - he told her it was too early and to go back to sleep) hmm.... So she went next door, to our dear neighbor’s house, and when the husband answered the door she told him “I here for breakfast”. They were in their 70s then, and since he had suffered a stroke in the past, he didn't really think anything about the fact that our daughter was alone at their door? His wife thought it was a little strange that we brought her over to eat breakfast, but they were like grandparents to our daughter so she didn’t mind it. She didn't ask her husband about the circumstances of Emily's arrival, until she saw a frantic looking daddy heading up to their front door! My husband asked Em what she was doing, and she said "eating pancakes".
We still have no idea how she opened the door, and from that point on when she said she wanted something, we resolved it right away!!!!! LOL

    1. WOW! That sounds like something that Isabel would do - I'm still dreading her climbing out of her crib, which, by some miracle, hasn't happened yet!

  2. Awesome drawing! Made me laugh. Isabel is amazing, and she inspires me to climb higher in life, and reach for what is above. God is working in that little girl before she even knows it. I do wish her to be safe though. I can only imagine your shock the first time you saw her up on the table! Was she smiling? She has such a great smile. :)

    1. She totally was wearing that smile that she's got - she's a little trouble-maker, but I wouldn't change her for the world! :)
